
Service Description of activities:
Youth Employment Resource Centre (YERC) provides specialized employment assistance services for youth clients between 15-30 years of age who are unemployed and legally entitled to work in Canada and live in Abbotsford and Mission.
Using established Case Management protocols with a specialized approach to service intervention, the Youth Employment Resource Centre assist youth clients to identify their employment needs, collaboratively develop a Return to Work Action Plan, make appropriate referrals to employment programs and services (including SDEB, OPPS Fund & Skills Link funding applications), provide ongoing case management support, and follow-up client progress in achieving self sufficiency and securing employment.
The centre further assist unemployed Abbotsford and Mission area Youth clients by providing in-house one-to-one individualized sessions, and/or group sessions focusing on job search skills, employability skills, and techniques.
The Youth Employment Resource Centre provides unemployed youth individuals with access to support resources and services designed to facilitate rapid returns to work or new entry into the workforce.
In order to facilitate project responsiveness to participants, a constant connection with Fraser Valley Wage Subsidy program and local employers is maintained in order to keep up with the demands of the job market, and new regulations being enforced.
